Syllabus
  • How much does a welding course cost?
    1,635,000 UGX in total. (The registration fee is 35k, the student requirements, feeding, and tuition are 800k in the first semester and 800k for the second semester.)
  • How long is this welding course?
    Twenty-six weeks in duration
  • What type of classes does Kazo Technical School offer?
    a. We offer a wide range of theory and practical skills related to welding. Please refer to the syllabus for the specifics
  • How much can I expect to earn as a welder?
    Our graduates are earning between 300k-650k monthly salary.
  • What skills are needed to become a welder?
    a. On the practical side, good motor skills are essential. On the side of theory, strong mathematical skills are essential.
  • What previous education must a student have before they are allowed to join the welding program?
    a. The student must have graduated from S4. Additionally, all potential students must pass an English language and mathematical competency exam before admission.
  • What personal equipment do I need to have before starting the welding program?
    Please see the list of requirements. The school will supply these at cost to the students. Note: the student must bring his own safety boots.
  • Does the welding program help students find or get a job?
    a. Yes. We first arrange internships for our graduates. Additionally, we have professional relationships with Kampala area welding companies and seek to place our graduates within.
  • Is it worth going to welding school?
    a. Yes, those who learn the skill of welding from a school do more professional work and are more desirable to employers.
  • Where are the welding jobs?
    a. Most welding jobs are in the Kampala area in larger manufacturing and construction companies. Additionally, the oil and gas sector in Western Uganda will have many welding jobs in the near future.
  • What equipment do I need to get before starting class?
    1. Safety glasses Personal protective equipment to protect the eyes. All glasses must be reasonably clean and free of scratches. 5,000 2. Safety boots The boots must cover the ankle and have safety toes. Student must supply 3. Dust masks Personal protective equipment to protect the lungs. Student must supply 4. Ear plugs (12 pairs) Personal protective equipment to protect hearing. 15,000 5. Welding gloves (2 pairs) Personal protective equipment to protect hands. 20,000 6. Overalls Safety overall with logo 60,000 Total cost of required supplies. 100,000 The student will own these supplies and be responsible for them during school. After he graduates, he will be able to use them in his workplace. All of these items are required before starting classes. Dust masks are readily available in local shops. Please note that we will not sell safety boots to students due to the difficulty of keeping all sizes in stock. Boots can easily be purchased by the student at a number of shops in Kampala. Note: The student will be responsible for the maintenance and security of his own tools. The school will provide a locker to each student for storage of his tools while at school.
